HEART BREAK
© Had we never lov'd sae kindly, Had we never lov'd sae blindly, Never met -- or never parted -- we had never been broken-hearted.
© It is a curious sensation: the sort of pain that goes mercifully beyond our powers of feeling. When your heart is broken, your boats are burned: nothing matters any more. It is the end of happiness and the beginning of peace.
© How else but through a broken heart may Lord Christ enter in?
© It isn't enough for your heart to break because everybody's heart is broken now.
© A broken heart is a very pleasant complaint for a man in London if he has a comfortable income.

Never seek to tell thy love,
Love that never told can be;
For the gentle wind doth move
Silently, invisibly.
Love that never told can be;
For the gentle wind doth move
Silently, invisibly.
I told my love, I told my love,
I told her all my heart,
Trembling, cold, in ghastly fears,
Ah! She did depart!
I told her all my heart,
Trembling, cold, in ghastly fears,
Ah! She did depart!
Soon after she was gone from me
A traveller came by,
Silently, invisibly,
He took her with a sigh.
A traveller came by,
Silently, invisibly,
He took her with a sigh.
The fountains mingle with the river
And the rivers with the ocean,
The winds of heaven mix forever
With a sweet emotion;
Nothing in the world is single,
All things by a law divine
In one another’s being mingleĆ¢€”
Why not I with thine?
And the rivers with the ocean,
The winds of heaven mix forever
With a sweet emotion;
Nothing in the world is single,
All things by a law divine
In one another’s being mingleĆ¢€”
Why not I with thine?
See the mountains kiss high heaven,
And the waves clasp one another;
No sister-flower would be forgiven
If it disdain’d its brother;
And the sunlight clasps the earth,
And the moonbeams kiss the seaĆ¢€”
What are all these kissings worth,
If thou kiss not me?
And the waves clasp one another;
No sister-flower would be forgiven
If it disdain’d its brother;
And the sunlight clasps the earth,
And the moonbeams kiss the seaĆ¢€”
What are all these kissings worth,
If thou kiss not me?
