Donaire vs. Narvaez - Official Weigh-in

Nonito "The Filipino Flash" Donaire still admit to himself that he was shocked and surprised about his weight.

It was recorded that Donaire was weighed in the official weigh-in of 116.25 pounds while the limit weight for the bantamweight division is 118 pounds.

Remeber that the WBO and WBC champion that he believe that he can't go for the 116 pounds but still he is surprised for the result of the hard training.

Apparently, before the official weigh-in, he weigh almost 118 pounds when he weighed himself in the hotel.

He also tried to tried to go up and down the stairs twice just to reduce his weight because he weighed 118.4 pounds, until he actually reduce it down to 118 pounds exact in the weighing scale.

But the surprise and shock came to him when he stand up in the weighing scale and see the resulting official weigh-in.

"I went down and when i stepped onto the scale, and when it said 116 - boom - I was shocked and surprised," says Donaire.

Also the boxing observers was surprised for the result of his official weigh-in.

This is the lightest weight of Donaire among his recent three fights.

Victor Conte, nutritionist of Donaire, was also surprised for the resulting weight and was blamed because of the result.

But his trainer Robert Garcia is determined that there will be no change about Donaire just because of his light weight.

The Argentinian undefeated junior bantamweight Omar Narvaez was heavier than Donaire's weight of 117 pounds.

Beny Esteves was the referee for the Donaire-Narvaez showdown, also the judges were Julie Lederman, Thomas Schreck and Steven Weisfield.

Richard de Cuir will serve as the fight suprevisor.

Tiffany Ashley De Guzman-Viray will sing the national anthem "Lupang Hinirang", while Lianah Sta. Ana will sing the "Star Spangled Banner".

The two were both from Freehold, New Jersey.
