Typhoon Pedring and Quiel Tandem


While thousand of individuals continued in suffering by the widespread flooding in Northern Luzon and Central Luzon, the toll of death is continue to increase because of the tandem between the onslaught of Typhoon Pedring and Typhoon Quiel.

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), 61 deaths are recorded in which 58 were killed by the Typhoon Pedring and the other three were killed by the Typhoon Quiel.

Still, there are 34 persons that are recorded missing and most of them are fishermen.

Right now, it  reached P8.6 billion to the initial damage which is maximized by the agriculture which reach from P7.5 billion which includes the crops of farmers such as rice, corn, vegetables and some fisheries are destroyed.

More than 42,000 houses are damaged and at least 6,000 of these houses are totally destroyed.

Still there are 72 bridges and highways that are closed and still impassable because of the flood and had been destroyed by flash floods.

2.6 million residents are still affected by the storm and most of them are from Bulacan, Tarlac, Pampanga and Isabela.

Still the government and NGOs officials continue to help the public especially those who are in affected regions.
